FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
- How long will it take to get results on
Paris Net?
How long it takes to get results is dependent on many different factors.
The most important are location, size and price. Advertisements placed
on Paris Net will be seen by visitors to the site beginning immediately,
and you will get responses throughout the entire period during which
your ad runs. We have had some advertisers report getting over 100 responses
during one month. Most of our customers are extremely pleased with the
results they get from Paris Net and more than 75% of the advertisers
are repeat customers. Many visitors to the site reserve accommodations
three months in advance, or even longer. So you should also be sure
to place your ad well in advance of the time when it is available.
- How can I get the maximum number of responses
?
The most important thing is to make sure that your apartment is priced
correctly, that you give a good description of the apartment (a photo
helps a lot) and that you are easy to contact. If you are charging a
premium price, it should be evident from your advertisement why it is
worth paying that price. Equally important, many visitors to the site
don't know Paris at all and they are more willing to rent an apartment
if they have an idea of where it is and what it is near (i.e. near the
Eiffel Toweror the Parc des Buttes Chaumont). You should also plan to
begin advertising at least two months in advance of the date for whihc
you would like to rent your apartment.
- Should I write my advertisement in English
or in French?
Either one is fine, but English is better. Everybody who comes to the
site speaks at least some English, but some of the visitors to the site
don't speak very much French.
- Why do I have to pay to place an ad?
Paris Net is advertised in print publications in the United States and
France with a combined monthly circulation of over 600,000 copies. This
ensures that thousands of people come to visit every day. By advertising
on Paris Net you can reach renters who read some of the most important
publications for the English speaking international community in France
as well as affluent Europeans and North Americans who frequently travel
to France. The price you would pay to advertise in all of these publications
is many times greater than you pay to advertise on Paris Net.
- Can I place an ad for a residence outside
of Paris?
Yes. We have lots of visitors who come to the site looking for apartments
outside of Paris. We recently updated sections for regions outside of
France, now they receive a great deal of traffic.
- How do people learn about Paris Net?
Paris Net is advertised in magazines for the international community
in Paris and magazines in the United States that target affluent travellers.
It is also very well indexed in major internet search engines. Google
ranks Paris Net as one of the most relevant sites on the internet
for all searches related to apartments and vacation apartments in Paris
as well as many, many other topics relevant to Paris tourism. Other
visitors learn about Paris Net from friends, and links from other websites
about France and European travel.
- What can you tell me about the people who
visit the site?
Paris Net has well over 2500 visitors daily. These visitors come to
Paris Net primarily to find accomodations in France or travel related
services. About 55% of the visitors to parisnet.net come from North
America, 30% from France, 10% from the rest of Europe and 5% from around
the world. Read the Apartment Wanted ads
to get a better idea of who they are and what they are looking for.
- If I rent out my accommodation to somebody,
how can I be sure they will come?
Most people who offer rental accommodations ask for a deposit in advance,
if the renter does not come, they would then lose their deposit. If
you don't accept credit cards, most people can pay a deposit to you
by Western Union.
- Do you similar websites for other locations?
Yes! Prague Net is the siser
site of Paris Net, and Madrid Net and Barcelona Net will be open soon.
We also have plans to open other sites for European cities that have
large numbers of English speaking residents and visitors.
