The Maison de Radio France is the headquarters of Radio France, the French public service radio station. The impressive cylindrical building with a circumference of over 1500ft and a 200 foot tall tower was completed in 1963 and inaugurated by President Charles de Gaulle. Over 60 studios and thousands of offices are located in the building, which also houses the Museum of the History of Radio and Television. The museum presents the history of electronic communications from telegraph to radio and television as well as recording technologies. Jazz and classical music concerts sponsored by Radio France (including 180 free concerts per year) are also performed here.
