Pantheon

Pantheon Paris

Built by order of the King Louis XV, the neo-classical Pantheon was originally planned as a church, but upon its completion the Revolution broke out and it became a mausoleum for the tombs of the greatest thinkers of France. Today the tombs of more than 70 great Frenchmen (Voltaire, Rousseau, Dumas) and one great Frenchwoman (Marie Curie) are found here.
